The Causes of Forest Fire

The Causes of Forest Fire

  •  Natural causes - Many forest fires start with natural resources such as lightning that burns trees with fire. However, the rain extinguishes the fire without causing much damage. High air temperature and dryness (low humidity) provide an ideal place for a fire to start.
  • Man-made causes - A fire is caused when a fire source such as a flame, cigarette or bid, spark, or any other igniting source comes into contact with flammable materials.

Traditionally, India's forests are on fire The threat has been exacerbated by the increase in population and cattle and the growing demand for forest products by individuals and communities. The causes of forest fires can be divided into two broad categories: natural (superhuman) and human (physical).

  • Environmental causes are closely related to climatic conditions such as temperature, wind speed, trajectory, soil and air humidity, and the length of the dry season. Other natural causes are the movement of moving bamboos due to the speed of the wind and the rolling stones that ignite sparks in the tropical leaf litter at the bottom of the forest.
  • Human-related causes are the result of human activities and forest management processes. This may be intentional or unintentional, for example:
  • Pastures and collectors of various forest products who start small fires to find good pastures and facilitate the collection of small forest products such as Madhuca Indica flowers and Diospyros melanoxylon leaves
  • The centuries-old tradition of flexible farming (especially in the Northeastern region of India and in the Orissa and Andhra Pradesh regions)
  • The use of wildfires to ward off wildfires by people living near forests to enjoy their fires began as accidentally when careless tourists arriving at the jungle discarded cigarette butts.
  • The causes of forest fires are increasing rapidly the problem is compounded by the increase in population and cattle. People regularly enter the forests to graze cattle, firewood, timber, and other small forest products. It is estimated that 90% of India's forest fires are man-made
