 T he Himalayas are north of the southern sea, both plains and plains covering the remaining region.  The state has an area of ​​88,752 square kilometers (34,267 sq mi). With Bangladesh, with its eastern border, the region forms the Ethno-lingual region of Bengal. To the northeast are the provinces of Assam and Sikkim and the land of Bhutan, and to the southwest, the province of Odisha. To the west, Bengal is the border of Jharkhand and Bihar prefectures, and to the northwest, Nepal. The Himalayan foothills rise abruptly across the plateau and reach the evergreen ice at Sikkim ruled by Kanchenjungha (8,598 m).
